Charging modes

Charging modes for electronic vehicles:

  • Mode 1: Plugging directly into a power outlet (currently rarely used due to safety concerns).

  • Mode 2: Connection between the vehicle and the power grid through a mobile protective device.

High energy capacities present significant challenges to the supply network for charging systems. As illustrated in the accompanying diagram, ensuring the efficiency and reliability of power electronics — the core component of DC charging stations — is of paramount importance.

For power electronics to function effectively, it is essential that direct current is consistently available at each charging device and its corresponding contact system, whether equipped with a plug or not. In such applications, our high-performance, durable, and highly flexible cables and wires are indispensable. These solutions are engineered to perform optimally in confined spaces, ensuring maximum current-carrying capacity under mechanical stress.

For public charging installations, such as those at airports or parking garages, we provide halogen-free cables and conductors that meet international standards where required.
