Bu Dang: Where we went to light up young hearts

Crossing winding, rugged roads through the sun-drenched forest highlands, our HELUKABEL Vietnam team arrived at Dang Dieng R’hach Catholic Church – one of the most isolated catholic churches under Dak Nhau Parish, located in Dang Lang Hamlet, Dak Nhau Commune, Bu Dang District, Binh Phuoc Province. This is home to many members of the S'Tieng and M'Nong ethnic communities, where life remains difficult and most locals earn a living through manual labor and seasonal work.

Our team was warmly welcomed by the sisters, the parents and the children there. The clear eyes and radiant smiles of the children seemed to wash away all fatigue, filling every team member’s heart with joy and excitement.

This year marks the second time HELUKABEL Vietnam has brought the “Children's Festival” to underprivileged areas, bringing happiness to children in need. The trip stemmed from the HELURUN TOGETHER 2025 online charity run, which took place from April 22 to May 22. With a total distance of 6,813 km accumulated, equivalent to 6,813,000 VND raised through the event, we HELUKABEL Vietnam covered and supplemented the remaining amount to complete the fund, reaching the original goal of 100,000,000 VND. This total fund was used to purchase food, drinks, gifts for the children, as well as to cover other operational costs for the show.

This project is not only a charitable activity but also a bridge of love between business and community, true to HELUKABEL’s spirit of sustainable development tied to social responsibility. More than just a CSR activity, this journey was an opportunity for the HELUKABEL team to bond, share, and bring a truly joyful festival day to hundreds of children in this remote, sun-baked highland area.

Once settled, the team quickly jumped into preparations including setting up tables, arranging chairs, decorating booths, and checking the sound system. In no time, the small church courtyard was transformed into a lively and colorful festival space.

The event kicked off with group activities and warm-up games for the kids. Then came a wave of surprise and laughter as cheerful dance performances and especially the Tam Cam play, directed and performed by HELUKABEL members, took the stage. Seeing the eager eyes and bursts of laughter from the children below, we – those standing on stage – couldn’t help but feel deeply touched and overwhelmingly happy.

After the performances, the team personally handed out hundreds of gifts, which were school supplies, to the children. These simple notebooks and learning tools carried great hope: that education would be the key to unlocking a brighter future for them.

Next, the food booths came alive. Egg pudding cakes, sweet and savory pastries, marshmallow skewers, refreshing orange juice, and sweet peach tea – all were thoughtfully prepared to ensure our little guests felt truly welcomed and loved.

In another corner, the game area buzzed with excitement. From statue and sand painting to ring toss and ball throwing, every cheer that erupted marked a precious memory we hoped to etch into the children’s childhood.

We also set up charming photo corners for the kids to capture memorable moments with friends and family. Despite less favorable weather in the afternoon, the lively and heartwarming atmosphere remained untouched. Together, we wrapped up a truly beautiful day – a day where love was given, joy was shared, and happiness continues to linger.
