Helukabel Receives Award as a Volunteer-Friendly Employer

HELUKABEL GmbH has been awarded the title of "Volunteer-friendly employer in civil protection" by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior. The award ceremony took place on 18 October in the Alfred Kärcher Auditorium in Winnenden. A total of 24 companies were honoured for their special support of volunteers. The nominations were submitted by aid organisations and local authorities.

The award was accepted on behalf of HELUKABEL by the company's founder and managing director, Helmut Luksch. "Social commitment is more important today than ever before. In turbulent times, we cannot highly enough appreciate the willingness of employers to support the voluntary commitment of their employees", said Minister of the Interior Thomas Strobl in his speech to the award winners. HELUKABEL also offers this support to volunteers and rescue workers.

"The company does a lot to ensure that I can do my voluntary work as well as possible," says Elke Velm, for example. The sales representative is also active in the German Red Cross - and when she is called out on a mission, it usually has to be done quickly. "It's a great advantage that I can park my car right in front of the door, and the department is set up in such a way that I can leave without having to ask. Educational leave for training courses is also granted without further ado, and HELUKABEL even donated the necessary cables for a rebuild at the German Red Cross building. "None of this can be taken for granted," says Elke Velm. "That's why I think the award is well deserved".

For company founder Helmut Luksch, it is in the nature of the family business to actively support social commitment. "When our employees work for the Red Cross, the fire brigade or other organisations, it is a great and honourable thing to do. That's why we like to create the best conditions for them to do so. Last Wednesday's award shows that this obviously works very well.
