With the desire to connect and create opportunities for businesses in the solar sector to exchange knowledge about connector installation techniques, as well as improve the quality and efficiency of the photovoltaic systems, on August 29, 2023, we, HELUKABEL Vietnam, organized the seminar “ MC4-Evo 2 The Revolution of DC Connectors” at The Myst Dong Khoi hotel. This event took place in a lively atmosphere with an in-depth presentation on technical issues related to MC4-Evo 2 connectors by Mr. Joseph Yang, Director of Stäubli (Taiwan).

This year, the solar market has started to develop again after the Government approved Power Plan VIII. To prepare for the upcoming solar projects, engineers and investors have begun to look for solutions to overcome problems that solar systems often encounter and ensure efficiency during operation.

Problems at the contact point between the connector and the power cable are a concern for many investors because this causes power loss, even a fire or explosion, causing the entire system to stop working. To help customers solve this problem, in the seminar, Mr. Joseph Yang pointed out the causes and ways to limit unwanted risks during installation. Attendees will also be able to practice on their own to know exactly how to install properly with the guidance of experts.

“As an operation manager, I see the problems that rooftop solar projects are facing after a few years of operation. Therefore, I am most interested in technical issues and information that have just been shared at the conference, about tests, and specifications of MC4 connectors. From there, I can choose the right product,” added Mr. Le Bach Qui Cuong.

“MC4-Evo 2 – Reliability, safety, and low contact resistance”

In photovoltaic systems, solar power cables are often connected by connectors. At these contact points, when the amperage increases, it will lead to power loss and cause a voltage drop. At the same time, the higher the contact resistance, this will cause the device to heat up and affect the quality of the device.
